(Matambú Magazine-Agro)- Speaking on September 8, after a virtual meeting to study the progress report of the activities of the General Secretary, the Togolese Minister of Trade, Mr. Kodjo Adédzé announced the forthcoming holding of the 62nd Annual Assembly of the Inter-African Coffee Organization (IACO).
The event will take place from November 14 to 18, 2022 in Lomé, the country’s capital.
The various delegations from the 25 member countries that are expected to attend the Assembly will therefore discuss the quality, quantity, and certification of value chains around African coffee, for a better competitiveness.
During the virtual meeting, which was also an occasion for preparations for the upcoming event, Mr. Adédzé, Minister and current President of the Organization, stressed that it is necessary ”… to work more on the quantity aspects, but also quality and certification in the value chains of our coffee, to guarantee better competitiveness. As the world is undergoing profound change, consumers are increasingly demanding and competitors are always on the lookout for business opportunities.’’
